Every suite on Explora faces the ocean — no interior, no partial views, no exceptions. Ocean Suites — Entry Tier

Ocean Terrace Suite

35 sqm / 377 sqft

Entry suite. Floor-to-ceiling windows, private sun terrace with dining table, daybed, and ocean views. Compact but complete — every Explora amenity included. Works well for 7-night sailings where you spend most time out of the cabin.

Ocean Grand Terrace Suite

35 sqm cabin + 11 sqm terrace / Decks 6–7

Larger terrace than the standard Terrace Suite — the additional outdoor space is the meaningful upgrade here. Winner of Best Cabin at Cruise Ship Interiors Awards (2023). Same cabin footprint, significantly more outdoor room.

Entrance hall, luminous lounge, large terrace with daybed and alfresco dining. Designed for additional privacy.

Grand Penthouse

"True residential style living." Distinct zones for dining, lounging, sleeping, and working. Double sofa bed. Larger panoramic terrace. Best for families or guests who want near-Residence space without the butler program.

Ocean Residences — Butler Tier

Residences are a different service model — dedicated Residence Host (butler), private bar, unlimited laundry, enhanced dining, and airport transfers. The room is larger; the service is fundamentally different.

Apartment-style layout, curated décor, fresh flowers. Sweeping views over the ship's bow — the most forward point on the ship with widest forward panorama.

Serenity Residence

113–126 sqm

Light-filled layout with large sofa, workstation, dining for four. Separate bedroom, walk-in wardrobe. Wraparound terrace with private whirlpool, dining table, sun-loungers, and Technogym Bench. One of the most desirable suite types onboard.

Cocoon Residence

Aft, most panoramic position

149 sqm / largest category

The most expansive residence. Distinct zones: living, working, dining, unwinding. Guest powder room. Vast wraparound terrace with private whirlpool. Technogym Bench. Front-row seat to the horizon at the ship's aft.

Is an Ocean Terrace Suite really 35sqm? That seems small. +
35sqm (377sqft) for the smallest category is compact — but it includes a private terrace, floor-to-ceiling windows, and the full suite amenity package. For a 7-night sailing where you're spending most time out of the room, it works. For longer voyages or if you spend significant time in your suite, step up to an Ocean Grand Terrace or entry Penthouse.
What's the difference between a Penthouse and a Residence? +
Size, service, and butler. Penthouses (43–69sqm) are larger than standard suites with expanded terraces and priority dinner reservations. Residences (67–149sqm) add a dedicated Residence Host (butler), private bar, unlimited laundry, enhanced in-suite dining, and airport transfers. The service model is meaningfully different above the Residence threshold.
Which Residence should I choose — Cove, Retreat, Serenity, or Cocoon? +
Cove: forward position, private outdoor whirlpool, strong ocean views (67–80sqm). Retreat: forward-most location, apartment-style, bow views (77–81sqm). Serenity: aft panoramic, wraparound terrace, private whirlpool (113–126sqm). Cocoon: the largest residence category at 149sqm, aft position, most panoramic point on the ship. For the full-beam wraparound terrace, Serenity and Cocoon are unmatched.
Does every suite have a private terrace? +
Yes — every suite category on Explora Journeys has a private terrace. This is a fundamental design principle. Ocean Terrace Suites have the smallest at 35sqm total including the terrace. Cocoon Residences have vast wraparound terraces. No interior or window-only options exist.
