The Retreat: Celebrity's Suite Program
What's included, what makes it different, and whether it's worth it.
The Retreat is Celebrity's suite-class program — a ship-within-a-ship experience that bundles an exclusive restaurant, a private deck, butler service, and premium amenities into every suite booking. It starts at the Aqua Sky Suite level and scales up through Edge Villas.
The single most valuable element is Luminae — an exclusive restaurant that non-suite guests simply cannot access. If you dine at Luminae every night, the premium over standard cabins becomes considerably easier to justify.

Luminae — The Centerpiece
The restaurant non-suite guests cannot access.
Luminae serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner exclusively for Retreat guests. The menu is meaningfully different from — and better than — the main dining room. Preparations are more refined, service is more personalized (your server knows your name by day two), and the room itself is smaller and quieter. For a 7-night sailing, eating at Luminae most evenings is where the Retreat premium gets recaptured most concretely.
The Retreat Deck + Lounge
Every Celebrity ship has a dedicated outdoor deck reserved for Retreat guests — sunbeds, a private bar, and attendants who know your drink preferences. On Edge Class ships the deck is on the forward section with some of the best unobstructed views on the ship. On Solstice and Millennium Class it's more modest but still meaningfully crowd-free compared to the main pool deck.
Is The Retreat Worth the Premium?
You plan to eat at Luminae every night — the quality of dining alone is worth a significant premium for a 7-night sailing.
You drink daily and would be upgrading to Premium drinks anyway — that cost is already captured in the Retreat fare.
You value the private deck and want to avoid the main pool crowd on sea days.
You're celebrating a milestone trip (honeymoon, anniversary, big birthday) and the butler + full-service experience matters.
You're primarily on shore for most port-heavy Caribbean itineraries — you won't use the Retreat deck or Luminae enough to justify the premium.
Budget-constrained with a first-time Celebrity sailing — an AquaClass cabin with Blu restaurant gives you a dining upgrade at a lower step-up.
