Bimini Beach Club Guide

VV's private Bahamas beach — here's how to spend the day.

Bimini is a small Bahamian island, and Virgin Voyages has a private beach club here that Caribbean sailings typically stop at. The island is beautiful — turquoise, shallow, warm water — and the day there is one of the most consistently loved parts of any VV sailing.

Left Beach vs. Right Beach

When you step off the tender, you'll see two main beach directions. Here's the difference:

Left Beach (toward resort)

The VV beach club area. Beach bars, more infrastructure, chairs and umbrellas for rent. More crowded, more party energy.

Right Beach (away from resort)

Quieter, less crowded, more natural. Better for swimming and snorkeling. Walk far enough and you'll find nearly empty stretches.

Snorkeling Tip

The best snorkeling is near the pier tip on the right side of the beach. The rocky area around the pier supports coral and fish life. If you're bringing your own snorkel gear (it's allowed), head there first. The middle lagoon area is beautiful but shallow with a sandy bottom — less marine life.

What to Bring for Bimini Day

Reef-safe sunscreen

Required. Regular sunscreen damages the coral reef and is not permitted.

Reusable water bottle

Drink water regularly — you'll spend hours in the sun. Free water at beach bars.

Collapsible straw

No plastic straws onboard or at Bimini. Pack a reusable one if you care about convenience.

Waterproof bag or dry bag

Protect your phone and valuables on the tender ride.

Cash (USD)

For any independent shops or vendors on the island beyond the beach club.

Your Bar Tab

It works at all Bimini beach bars — great way to use remaining credit.

Take an early tender (usually 9–10 AM). The best chairs fill up fast and the first 90 minutes are the most tranquil.
Don't leave your Bar Tab balance untouched — Bimini beach bars are the perfect place to use it up before the voyage ends.
The tender wait on return can be 20–40 minutes in the afternoon. Build that into your day or return before the peak crowd.

Frequently Asked

Is Bimini Beach Club included in my fare? +
Basic access — getting off the ship and onto the beach — is included. However, beach chairs and umbrellas, the private beach club area, watersports rentals, food, and all beverages beyond what's included in your regular fare are extra.
Does every VV sailing visit Bimini? +
No. Bimini is on Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries sailing from Miami. Mediterranean, Alaska, and California sailings don't include Bimini.
Is Bimini worth a day? +
Almost universally yes — it's the most-loved port stop among VV regulars. The combination of beach access, shallow warm water, and a relaxed atmosphere makes it a highlight of most sailings.
Should I use Bar Tab at Bimini? +
Absolutely. Your Bar Tab works at all beach bars and bars at Bimini. Stock up before getting off the ship and plan to use it here — it's the perfect environment to burn through credit.
