Rockstar Suite Breakdown

What you actually get when you go Rockstar.

Rockstar Quarters are Virgin Voyages' suite tier — larger cabins with a distinct set of perks that change the onboard experience significantly. The biggest differentiator isn't the room size: it's access to Richard's Rooftop and the dedicated Rockstar Agent.

Rockstar Quarters

The entry suite tier. Bigger room, full perk set.

  • Richard's Rooftop access
  • Dedicated Rockstar Agent
  • Priority boarding (walk off the pier first)
  • Priority disembarkation
  • In-room mini bar (stocked)
  • Music room with guitar
  • Peek-a-boo glass-wall shower
  • Dining reservations at 120 days
  • Shore Things access at 135 days
  • Welcome gift + turndown extras

Mega Rockstar Quarters

Everything in Rockstar, plus:

  • Everything in Rockstar Quarters
  • Multi-room suite layout (separate living room)
  • Private outdoor hot tub (select suites)
  • Catamaran net over the ocean (select suites)
  • Outdoor shower (select suites)
  • Panoramic wraparound views
  • Significantly larger square footage

Richard's Rooftop

The exclusive sundeck accessible only to Rockstar and Mega Rockstar holders. Private bar, premium sunbeds, and a dramatically smaller crowd than the main pool deck. The views are better, the noise is lower, and it genuinely feels like a different ship. If you're debating the Rockstar upgrade, this is the single biggest reason to do it.

What Changed in 2024

VV quietly removed complimentary thermal suite access as a Rockstar perk. Previously, Rockstar holders had exclusive access to the Redemption Spa thermal suite — mud room, salt room, cold plunge, hydrotherapy pool. As of 2024, the thermal suite is free for all sailors.

The silver lining: everyone gets the thermal suite now. The downside for Rockstar holders: the exclusivity is gone. Everything else (Rooftop, Agent, priority boarding) remains unchanged.

Is Rockstar Worth the Premium?

Depends on your priorities:

YES

You'll use the Rooftop as a daily retreat — it alone justifies the premium for many sailors.

YES

You're celebrating something significant (honeymoon, big birthday, milestone). The full-service Rockstar Agent + priority everything changes the trip.

YES

You want priority dining reservations (120 days vs. 45–60). If Gunbae and Test Kitchen matter to you, this helps.

SKIP

You spend most of your day at port and return late to your cabin. The Rooftop only matters if you use sea days on deck.

SKIP

You're budget-constrained. A Sea Terrace with Bar Tab credit may give you more joy per dollar.

Frequently Asked

Is Richard's Rooftop available to all Rockstar holders? +
Yes — both Rockstar Quarters and Mega Rockstar Quarters holders have access to Richard's Rooftop, the exclusive adults-only sundeck with private bar and sunbeds. General cabin categories cannot access it.
Did Rockstar suites used to include free spa access? +
Yes, until around 2024. Complimentary thermal suite access was a Rockstar perk that was quietly removed. The thermal suite is now free for all sailors, which is actually the silver lining — you get spa access regardless of cabin, but Rockstar holders no longer have an exclusive benefit there.
What's a Rockstar Agent? +
A dedicated shore-side concierge who handles your pre-sailing needs: dining reservations, Shore Things booking, cabin requests, and special arrangements. Accessible by phone and messaging before you board.
Is the Mega Rockstar worth the price premium over standard Rockstar? +
Depends on the specific suite — the best Mega Rockstar cabins (those with private hot tubs and catamaran nets) offer a truly extraordinary experience that justifies the premium. Standard Mega Rockstars are larger but share the same core perks as Rockstar Quarters.
