Virgin Voyages Packing List

What to bring, what to skip, and what people always forget.

Theme Night Outfits

One red outfit (Scarlet Night)

Dress, romper, suit, top — anything red. Accessories count. Commitment is rewarded.

Pajamas or lounge set (PJ Party)

Matching sets, robes, onesies — whatever you'd actually sleep in.

One elevated evening look (We Fancy)

Cocktail dress, blazer + slacks, or similar. Not black-tie — just a step above vacation casual.

80s/90s workout gear (VHS Night)

Leotard, windbreaker, tube socks, headband. Thrift stores are your friend.

Bimini + Beach Days

Reef-safe sunscreen

Required at Bimini — regular sunscreen damages coral. Mineral-based (zinc oxide or titanium dioxide).

Reusable water bottle

You'll be in the sun for hours. Free water everywhere, but bring your own vessel.

Collapsible straw

No plastic straws onboard or at Bimini. A silicone foldable straw fits in any bag.

Waterproof bag / dry bag

Tender rides can splash. Protect your phone and valuables.

Water shoes (optional)

Rocky entry at some Bimini beach areas. Nice to have but not required.

Snorkel gear (optional)

Bring your own if you prefer — rental gear is available but your own fits better.

Cabin Must-Haves

Surge-protected power strip

Only 2 outlets per cabin (European + US). A surge strip expands them. Non-surge strips are prohibited.

Magnet hooks

Cabin walls and doors are magnetic. Hooks let you hang bags, lanyards, and gear without holes or tape.

Shoe bag / over-door organizer

Hang over the bathroom door to organize shoes, sunscreen, accessories. Especially useful for Sea Terrace balcony shoes.

Seasickness patches or wristbands

VV ships are large and stable but Caribbean seas vary. Better to have them and not need them.

Night light

Blackout cabins are very dark. A small clip-on or USB night light helps with late-night navigation.

Leave at Home

Non-surge extension cords

Prohibited. Bring a surge-protected strip instead.

Washcloths

VV cabins famously do not provide washcloths. If you use them, bring your own.

Toiletries + full-size bottles

Cabin bathroom is small. Solid shampoo bars, decant into travel bottles. You don't need full-size anything for 4–7 nights.

Iron / hair straightener

Prohibited. The ship has a laundry + pressing service, or use the steamer upon request.

Formal wear

There are no formal nights. A blazer and slacks or a cocktail dress is the ceiling of any dress code expectation.

Bathroom Note

There is no electrical outlet inside the bathroom. Power is in the cabin only. If you use a hairdryer (other than the built-in), curling iron, or anything else that plugs in for grooming — it goes in the main room, not the bathroom.

Frequently Asked

Are power strips allowed on Virgin Voyages? +
Surge-protected power strips are allowed. Unprotected (non-surge) power strips and extension cords are NOT permitted. Stick to surge-protected strips or USB travel hubs.
Is there a hairdryer in the cabin? +
Yes, there's a built-in hairdryer in the bathroom. It's decent quality, not a cheap hotel dryer.
Is there a USB charging outlet near the bed? +
Yes. VV cabins have USB-A and USB-C ports near the Seabed. No adapter needed.
Can I bring wine onboard? +
You can bring wine onboard at embarkation. There's no limit disclosed, but reasonable amounts (a bottle or two per person) are fine. In-cabin consumption is corkage-free. A $25 corkage fee applies if you bring it to a restaurant.
