Virgin Voyages Cabin Guide
Every category, from Insider to Mega Rockstar.
Every VV cabin shares the same DNA: transforming Seabed (sofa → bed), mood lighting, quality linens, and hidden storage. The difference between tiers is about views, outdoor space, and suite perks — not quality of the room itself.
The Insider
InteriorFrom ~$100/night
Cleverly designed interior cabin. The Seabed transforms from sofa to bed, mood lighting creates a boutique feel, and hidden storage makes up for the compact footprint. No window — best for sailors who spend their time out exploring.
Key Perks
- ✓ Lowest entry price
- ✓ Identical amenities to pricier cabins
- ✓ Quieter on midship decks
Watch Out
No natural light. If you're sensitive to darkness on wake-up, step up to Sea View.
The Sea View
WindowMid-range
Same layout as The Insider with the addition of a porthole or window. Natural light pours in — you can watch the ocean from bed. The step up from Insider that doesn't break the bank.
Key Perks
- ✓ Natural light
- ✓ Same price band as Insider on many sailings
- ✓ Good for solo cabin upgrades
Watch Out
On lower decks, some Sea Views have obstructed views (lifeboats, equipment). Look for "Limited View" notation when booking.
The Sea Terrace
BalconyMost popular
Private balcony with a hammock. The most-booked cabin on the ship for good reason — outdoor space, ocean air, and a spot to watch the sunset from. Room feels significantly larger.
Key Perks
- ✓ Private balcony + hammock
- ✓ Best value for the balcony experience
- ✓ Widest availability across decks
Watch Out
Mid-forward decks get more engine noise. Prefer deck 8–12, aft-of-midship for quieter sailings.
The Mega Rockstar
Mega SuiteTop tier
Multi-room suites with outdoor hot tubs, catamaran nets over the ocean, panoramic views, and square footage that rivals high-end hotel suites. Some have outdoor showers. Includes all Rockstar perks.
Key Perks
- ✓ Largest cabins on the ship
- ✓ Hot tub + outdoor shower on select suites
- ✓ Catamaran net over the sea (select suites)
- ✓ All Rockstar perks included
Watch Out
Very limited availability — these sell out fast, often on first booking day.
Rockstar Quarters
SuitePremium
VIP tier. Dedicated Rockstar agent, priority everything, access to Richard's Rooftop (the exclusive sundeck that's off-limits to everyone else), a music room with guitar, and the famous peek-a-boo shower.
Key Perks
- ✓ Richard's Rooftop access
- ✓ Dedicated Rockstar agent
- ✓ Priority boarding + disembarkation
- ✓ In-room bar
- ✓ Priority dining reservations (120 days out)
Watch Out
As of 2024, complimentary thermal spa access was removed from Rockstar perks. You still get priority booking, but Redemption Spa is now first-come for all.
Deck Selection Tips
- → Decks 8–12 midship are the sweet spot — minimal motion, easy elevator access to main venues.
- → Aft cabins (back of ship) get more vibration from engines, especially at night.
- → Forward cabins (front of ship) get more pitch and wave noise in rough seas.
- → High decks (14–16) on Sea Terrace offer better views but more wind on the balcony.
- → Deck 7 forward is under the pool deck — can be noisy during daytime activities.
