Sailing Club Loyalty Guide

VV's loyalty tiers and how to work them in your favor.

The Sailing Club is Virgin Voyages' loyalty program. Status is earned purely by nights sailed — no spend thresholds, no credit card requirements. Higher tiers unlock earlier booking windows, additional Sailor Loot, and exclusive experiences.

The MNVV: Your Most Valuable Loyalty Move

Make Next Voyage Voyage

Buy it onboard (mid-sailing is the sweet spot). You pay a per-cabin deposit and receive a Sailor Loot credit that's applied to your next booking. The credit value typically exceeds the deposit cost. It's transferable, has a multi-year window, and is the most efficient way to chain VV sailings together.

  • Buy it mid-sailing when you're most enthusiastic
  • It's per-cabin, not per-person
  • Sailor Loot applies to new bookings — covers part of your next fare
  • Can be transferred to another sailing or another person
  • Multi-year validity window

Loyalty Strategy Tips

New sailors start at Red on their first sailing. You advance as you accumulate nights across all VV voyages.
Shorter sailings (4-night) accumulate status more slowly per dollar spent. Longer sailings (7-night) are more efficient for status building if that matters to you.
The booking window advantage at Blue/Deep Blue is the most practically valuable perk — getting Shore Things access 2–3 weeks earlier than standard makes a real difference for limited-space excursions.
Check your Sailing Club account for promotional Sailor Loot offers — VV often runs double-credit promotions for select sailings.

Frequently Asked

How do I earn Sailing Club status? +
Status is earned based on total nights sailed. There are no points or spend requirements — just nights on VV ships. Status is cumulative across all sailings.
What is an MNVV and why does everyone recommend it? +
MNVV (Make Next Voyage Voyage) is a future cruise deposit purchased onboard. You pay a set amount (usually $300–500 per cabin) and receive a Sailor Loot credit that applies to your next sailing. It's the lowest-cost way to lock in future VV sailings with extra credit.
Can I use Sailor Loot for anything on the ship? +
Sailor Loot is general onboard credit — it works for drinks, spa, Shore Things, and some specialty experiences. It cannot be used for gratuities (already included) or the casino.
Does my Sailing Club status carry over if I book under different emails? +
Your status is tied to your Sailor ID. If you've booked under different emails, contact VV customer service to merge your accounts before your next sailing.
